You can access the foyer via main entrance and has level access into the theatre. Theatre has inbuilt lift that serves all the floors except Circle. For disabled patrons and their carers, discounted tickets are offered by the Prince of Wales Theatre. On the back side of the Stalls, there are wheelchair spaces. Seating space for the wheel chair companion is also available. The Box Office has an induction loop point, whereas an infra-red system is inbuilt within the main auditorium. On occasion there is also scheduling of Sign language. In the year 1884, Prince of Wales Theatre was constructed and was named as Prince’s Theatre. After two years, its name was changed in the honour of future Edward VII. During the initial few decades, theatre hosted some of the productions by W S Gilbert, Ibsen and Sheridan. In the year 1892, theatre hosted its first English musical comedy, George Edwardes In Town. DPrince of Wales was home to several other famous productions like the debut play of Ivor Novello, The Rat in the year 1924 and also the risqué French style revues. The huge popularity of the theatre led to the rebuilding and demolition for larger occupancy. In the year 1937, Prince of Wales Theatre opened again and hosted some of the famous shows and also movie premiers such as Charlie Chapin’s The Great Dictator. Some of the notable productions at the Prince of Wales Theatre are Funny Girl, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Aspects of Love, Rent, The Ful Monty, Cliff, Mamma Mia and The Book of Mormon!
