Cinderella at the London Palladium
The beautiful
and delightful story of Cinderella has been enjoyed by all! Get set to catch
one of the most loved stories of all time at the London Palladium this
Christmas for a limited 5-week run. The show will be a spectacular production
with the first pantomime to appear at the prestigious West End theatre. The
show will feature all new star cast along with magnificent costumes and
breath-taking scenery.
Experience the
mesmerizing tale of Cinderella who after escaping from her wicked stepmother falls
into the arms of Prince Charming! Being one of the popular folk tale, the story
has been adapted several times. Disney has certainly made this story more
popular after releasing an animated film by the same name in the year 1950.
The story revolves
around a beautiful young girl, Cinderella who is living in unfortunate
circumstances. Her stepmother and stepsisters make her clean up and various
other house hold chores. Cinderella learns about an interesting announcement of
a ball organised by a handsome Prince Charming to find out his future wife in
the land. Her stepmother did not allow Cinderella to go. However, a Fairy
Godmother makes way for her to attend the ball and meet the prince. The
beautiful story comprises of various new characters and a classic pantomime
twist. The brand new show will be quite gripping and is brought to the London
Palladium by Qdos Entertainment. They are the world’s biggest producers of
pantomime. Michael Harrison, who is the managing director of the company will
be co-directing the show alongside Andrew Wright. The latter is known for his fabulous
choreography in the Olivier Award-nominated show Mrs Henderson Presents.
The star cast
includes Paul O’Grady as The Wicked Stepmother, Amanda Holden as the Fairy
Godmother, Julian Clary as Dandini, Lee Mead as the Prince Charming, Paul
Zerdin as Buttons, Nigel Havers as Lord Chamberlain and Count Arthur Strong as
Baron Hardup.
Earlier,
celebrities such as Barbara Windsor, Cilla Black and Ronnie Corbet have
portrayed the part of Cinderella. Hence, there is huge speculation that stars
of similar notoriety will portray the title role. Previews of the show will
start on December 9th 2016, where tickets go on sale on the April 15th.
