Cats The Musical London
Get ready to catch the iconic
musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Cats at the magnificent London Palladium. The
exciting London show is making its return for strictly limited period, i.e. 12
week season. The stunning musical is adapted from the T S Elliot’s collection,
Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats. The brilliant show is a complete audio
visual treat and revolves around a Cat’s tribe known as Jellicles.
The story of Cats will be a
complete roller coaster ride as it features some of the finest performers who are
dancing through out and do movements in feline style. Every member has their
own character. The show will be a joyful experience for the theatre lovers, as
the members will be introduced with different members of the cat community.
Some of the members of the Cat
community are Grizabella: The Glamour Cat, The Rum Tum Tugger, and The Old
Gumbie Cat. In the year 1981, Cats made its debut which starred Elaine Paige
under the superb direction of Trevor Nunn, whereas Gillian Lynn was the
associate director/choreographer. Cats went on winning several prestigious
awards such as Olivier and Tony awards for Best Musical.
At the New London Theatre, the
original London production ran for more than two decades and was hugely popular
amongst the Westend viewers. On the other hand, the Broadway production won
seven Tony awards. The magnificent London musical Cats has been enjoyed by
people from all across the globe.
The two hours and thirty minutes
show features some chartbusters such as “Macavity”, “Jellicle Songs for Jellicle
Cats” and of course the iconic “Memory”. From 6th of December, the
show is all set to make its comeback at the London Palladium Theatre.
