Elf the Musical
Get set to catch
the exciting new London show, Elf the Musical at the magnificent Dominion
theatre. The sensational new London premiere will star Ben Forster and
Kimberley Walsh. In the year 2003, the movie version was released which was a
huge success. The movie version starred Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel in the
lead role.
Tony award
winners Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers and Hairspray) have
adapted the musical from the movie. The heart touching musical composition is
rendered by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin.
Earlier, the
blockbuster musical enjoyed great run on Broadway with successful running for
two consecutive Christmases. Elf The Musical also completed two successful US
tours. The story revolves around Buddy who head towards New York in search of
his biological father. He also discovered that is a human being and had been
transported back to the North Pole in the gift bag of Santa and brought up by
elves.
The enjoyable
saga of Elf the Musical is narrated by Santa Claus. Michael Rose directed the
UK production and also enjoyed successful run in Dublin and Plymouth. The
original cast members will re-enact their roles like Ben Forster, Joe McGann and Jessica Martin reprise their
roles and will be joined by Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh as Jovie.
Immensely
talented and ITV’s Superstar, Ben Forster will act as Buddy the elf. He is also
the star of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Super Star Arena tour. Kimbeley
Walsh, a world renowned pop sensation has also acted in various movies such as Horrid Henry: The Movie and All Stars. She
made her London Westend debut as Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical and was a
finalist in Strictly Come Dancing 2012.
Morgan Young
renowned for White Christmas, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will direct and
choreograph, whereas Olivier award winner Tim Goodchild will design the set and
costumes.
